Writing Wedding Thank You Notes

After a wedding, the last thing on your mind is writing wedding thank you notes. Well, a wedding thank you card is a very important piece of the planning process and it expresses to all of your friends and family that you were very appreciative of them taking time out of their daily routine to celebrate with you.

When writing wedding thank you wording to express your gratitude, you should have a sort of elegance about your writing and it should be as personal as possible. Thanking each guest for their specific gift, attendance, and thoughtful words of encouragement they might have offered.

There are several fun and exciting different approaches you can take when writing wedding thank you notes. One approach is buying pre-printed ones from a local wedding shop, or online. Depending on your budget you might want to design a custom card. It is very understandable that some people may not be able to afford a custom card and those who aren’t able to, can always buy pre-made ones from a stationer.

One custom way to design a card is a photo postcard. These are made with a picture of you and your groom together on front with a small-personalized wedding thank you wording below. If you order them, you should try to at least personalize them with your own personal handwriting by signing your name to the card. This shows them that even though you didn’t hand write each card, you did take the time to look over and sign them.

Your wedding thank you notes should show that you greatly appreciated them coming, and show how much you appreciated their gift. To be sure you don’t get gifts confused, use your guest list to allow each guest to mark out their name and to write down what gift they brought. The point of these thank you words is to make them feel like it was your pleasure for them to attend your wedding and you enjoyed their company.

When writing wedding thank you notes, don’t forget to thank your bridesmaids, best man, flower girl, etc. At least put an effort out to thank everyone involved in your big day, because even if the day revolved around you, without them it wouldn’t have been possible.

You should not choose only certain people to receive thank you cards. You should use the exact same list as you did for the invitations, making sure to even send cards to those whom did not attend so they know you didn’t take offense to them not being there and understand they might have been busy.
