Kate performs “The Wedding List” on the 1979 Christmas special. Lyrics: No, I’ll never give the hunt up, And I won’t muck it up. Somehow this was it, I knew. Maybe fate wants you dead, too: We’ve come together in the very same room, And I’m coming for you! Did you think I’d ever let you Get away with it, huh? He swooned in warm maroon. There’s gas in your barrel, and I’m flooded with Doom. You’ve made a wake of our honeymoon, And I’m coming for you!” “All of the headlines said ‘Passion Crime …

    Oh my god  brilliantly OTT!

You know that Jackson went to a Bowie gig and saw him do a move that would later be called the…….’Moonwalk’. Seriously.

    Great!
I Can’t Stop listening to this song!

H.R. Giger – apparently when it arrived on set, Kate was upset as she thought it looked rubbish!
There are a number of rumours as to where it resides now…

In Cloudbusting, the rainmaker machine was designed by the guy who designed the Alien monster and sets…Geiger?

I just found out about the candle in the chair in Rocket Man and Alan Murphy (I was reading up on the references in Moments of Pleasure). And I’ve been rediscovering his guitar work. I remember trying to follow his guitar solo from Violin when I was a teen with no talent. What a brilliant guitarist and such a shame he died so young.

Is it possible that you are more fan of Kate Bush than I am?

Sadly she moves like mercury, so a circle in the only thing that covers her completely!

    Ooh, all sorts of stuff.
The Uffington White Horse in Cloudbusting, the changing colours in the background in TMWTCIHE, the changing seasons in Sensual World, the lightbulb in Them Heavy People, Peter Vaughan in Experiment IV, a candle next to Smurf’s guitar in Rocket Man…all such lovely deft little touches that make watching her videos even more fun.

I’m pretty sure Al Murphy (smurf) is on the left and the Brian Bath on the left
Del Palmer is the bassist on the other side of the drum kit

haha y’know I was looking at the band trying to see if they WERE the proper band but I couldn’t make out their faces. I noticed the guitarists are jigging along to a jolly old tune. Which guitarist is which?

    What are these interesting things?

    As I said – 5 times! lol…

I’ve started noticing all sorts of interesting things in her videos and performances now I’ve got a KT shaped piece of paper to cover her up with!

You managed to stop looking at her?I never managed to!

After watching this 5 times, I managed to stop looking at her and noticed Al Murphy and Brian Bath having a great time in the background – that’s pretty rockin’ for a mime!

Wow. So beautiful. We don’t get television like this nowadays. BBC used to have a paternalistic attitude with regard to their programming. They showed us what we should see. Now they are flirting with the sewer.

Been on a Kate Bush kick for about three hours now.. I love her and think this is about the most freaky thing. I laughed through most of it. To have put this song and the production together 30 years ago is amazing, and I am sure very controversial

she looks kinda freakish when she starts singing: Wedding list, wedding list..
    freaky song, but good song!

The live version of this is a lot better, with her infamous “wardrobe malfunction”. Midge Ure later (at an award night for Kate) made the comment she had tried to get her tits out for Prince Charles.

This may just be the best vid on utube.Just over 15 thousand hits is an outrage!!

Quentin Tarantino sure missed a trick when he made Kill Bill; this song is obviosly perfect as they were both inspired by the same thing! Actually, this song is too great to be featured in that movie.

The song is about a man who gets shot right after his wedding. The bride (Kate) gets angry and wants revenge, so she search for the killer, find him and shoot him. After she has killed him she commits suicide and when they examine her body they find out she was pregnant. So four people get killed in the song, the groom, the killer, the bride and her unborn child.

The song is inspired by the film “The Bride Wore Black” by Francois Truffaut from 1967.
