I was told by my filipino friends that if you marry a filipina in the Philippines, the groom is to wear the barong tagalog. Many videos I saw of foreigners marrying a filipina shows the groom in the barong tagalog.
it does not require you to wear the traditional barong tagalog, it is up to you . . . and since you are a decorated soldier, i think you should wear it. . . and wear it with pride and honour. . .
